American Downhiller Podcasts are Back! It’s Birds of Prey Time with AD Jared Goldberg

In this 2023-2024 Episode 1, the Team talks about the Birds of Prey, which will be the first speed racing of the season with two downhills and a super-G on Dec 1st, 2nd and 3rd! And to help them break down the course this week, they have special guest two-time Olympian and Stifel US Ski Team member Jared Goldberg, who is coming off his best World Cup season and a World Cup best 4th place at Kitzbuhel last season!

Introducing ADL Ambassador & Current American Downhiller Erik Arvidsson

Erik Arvidsson is on the rise and he could use our help. We first met Erik in the Spring of 2021 at Worthy Burgers in South Royalton, Vermont. He had just graduated from Middlebury College and was a rookie on the US Ski Team. A chance meeting with ADL Member Tyson Rich connected him with the club. Two seasons later and Erik has worked his way up the World Cup rankings finishing 6x in the top 30 last season, along with a 9th place in the combined and 17th in the Men’s Downhill at the 2023 FIS ALPINE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

A Skier’s Life – James Evans

I grew up in the era of “Straight Skis”- pre-shaped era, they were generally longer… a Plus!   With just a slight sidecut, my first ‘package ski set’ was Gresvig Super’s 205cm with lift cable bindings and screw in edges (mid-60’s.) A couple seasons later I was totally into Skiing. I splurged and bought my first main line skis, a pair of Head GS (black tops with yellow engraving & sidewalls! Oh, and the price was only $148.50!!)  At the time, I thought they were the absolute coolest skis ever.

How To Watch World Cup Ski Racing This Winter

Not everyone can go to Kitzbuhel and Wengen on our DreamTrips so watching the races at home is always a great second option. Fortunately there are numerous streaming options available for us to tune in to all the action. The races start this weekend at Soelden and you wont want to miss a second of the action because as you know… Hundies Matter!!!
